What’s up with the line?
I believe that the discussion was fruitfull and necessary among the Christian community. However, without a trial and proper adjudication of the facts and issues this discussion is still limited to speculation. Photos and text messages can only be taken in the context that they were sent or received. And since we were not there to know of either then without revelation we cannot judge those issues. Now as for Bishop Eddie Long who has long been in the public eye, this should come as a great surprise if it is true. Because the question must be asked why has this issue only recently surfaced, if the Bishop has carried these moral issues which are so negative and reprehensible? Why hasn’t the discovery of such a horrible character trait been exposed before now. Why hasn’t someone close to him (out of a huge entourage)disclosed or made reference to this behavior before now even if by inference?
Finally, as to the four men who are the accusers of their mentor. I have a host of problems with the accusations because of the timetable and length of the time it took for them to disclosed the heart of these immoral habits. Not to mention the fact the these young men were willing to settle this horrific injustice in an out of court negotiation. In the end they got no moral justice if the accusations are true. Its hard to believe that one would not ask for more from a traumatic experience.
